Set after the events seen in Borderlands 2, Tales from the Borderlands begins as a series of flashbacks revealing how the two main characters – Rhys and Fiona – became involved in a shady deal that goes very wrong for both of them. Thrown together in an unlikely partnership to recover money they both think is theirs, they soon become involved in something much bigger. Bandit lords, gangsters, grilled skag meat, a vault hunter, self-pitying robots, homicidal midgets, ten million dollars, powerful Atlas tech, and a Vault Key are just the tip of the iceberg, in this brand new adventure dripping with Borderlands’ trademark humor.
Tales from the Borderlands takes place on Pandora, one of the known galaxy’s most dangerous planets, and location for the stories seen in Borderlands and Borderlands 2. Mostly barren and populated by very dangerous creatures (and people…and robots), it’s a place where only the strong survive. Various powerful corporations have attempted to tame Pandora, but none have succeeded.
Pandora is also home to the Vaults – repositories of powerful alien technology. At the time of Tales, two Vaults have been found and opened, the latter resulting in the death of Hyperion Corporation CEO and dictator, Handsome Jack. But even though he’s gone, Jack’s presence has yet to relinquish its hold on Pandora.
